Designed by Kombumerri artist Lann Levinge, this limited-edition guernsey tells the story of Jabreen, our creation being, resting at Jellurgal (Burleigh Heads), watching over the land, ocean and waterways of Kombumerri Country, the place we now know as the Gold Coast.
At the centre of the design, layered oval shapes represent the Kombumerri people, the saltwater and oyster people, with special recognition of the Levinge family. The radiant sun sits at the heart of the artwork, symbolising energy, life and spirit, showering fearless SUNS warriors with strength and connection to place.
The sand goanna travels across the shifting sands of Currigee on South Stradbroke Island, leaving a clear path behind him. His journey represents the many pathways taken by players, supporters and communities who now call the Gold Coast home.
Finished with the names of past and present SUNS Indigenous AFL players, this guernsey is bold, meaningful and deeply connected to Country.
